Hack 4 Good Springfield Competition Details
We were unable to host in-person Hack 4 Good 2020 events, but we look forward to resuming our annual events in Fall 2021. In the meantime, we hope you will attend the weekly hack nights!
Friday, Nov. 1st 2019 – Sunday, Nov. 3rd 2019
The eFactory | Springfield, Missouri
Our annual competition gives designers and developers an opportunity to build a simple solution for a specific well-defined community project over the course of a weekend. This year we are partnering with City of Springfield Workforce Development (pitch video) to connect job-seekers with nearby job listings. We are also partnering with Isabel’s House (pitch video) to make it easier for their team to access digital learning materials.
Free registration is available for the first 80 participants, thanks to our Weekend Event Sponsor Classy Llama and all of our other Sponsors. Food and drinks will be provided. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams.

Behind the Scenes at Hack 4 Good 2017
Opening Session – Hack 4 Good 2019
Improve your existing skillsets and learn new technologies while working in a fast-paced team environment.
Teams will use existing skills and learn new technologies and skills when working together to complete this year’s community project in less than 48 hours.
NEW IN 2019! College students will have the option to make a difference in our community by participating in a simpler technical project that does NOT require experience designing a website or mobile application from the ground up.
Hack 4 Good is a group effort. If you do not already have a team, we will group you with other designers and developers who are working toward a common goal — improving our community.
Each team has an opportunity to demo their code/design to a panel of judges who score the project based on functionality, design appeal, and architecture.
The top 3 teams receive awards and cash prizes. The winning team is encouraged to help H4G launch a useable project with ongoing support from our H4G volunteers, including local designers and developers through our ongoing Hack Night events.
Make a Lasting Impact
Hack 4 Good chooses a project that can be completed in a weekend and will make a lasting impact on our community.
H4G would not be possible without your participation. We are able to adopt ideas and code from multiple teams as we continue to work on projects at Hack Night events after the competition ends.
We hope you can join us at Hack 4 Good 2019 and our ongoing Hack Night events!
